Resume

Agricultural Engineer and PhD from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). She has been a Professor in the Department of Soil Science of Agricultural Engineers School of the UPM (1988-2017). She lectured as a soils science specialist in Soils Conservation and Agriculture History. Also, she gave courses on Irrigation Systems at the Center for Hydrographic Studies of Spain (CEDEX). Co-director of the International Master’s Degree in Agro-environmental Technology in collaboration with South American Universities. The primary author of numerous works on climatology, soil contamination, climatic risks and crop prediction for the State Agrarian Insurance of Spain (ENESA). She is the co-author of two books, Agriculture and the Environment and Diffuse Agrarian Pollution, published by the Ministry of Public Works and Urbanism.
She obtained the Gold Medal from the UPM and the Professional College of Agricultural Engineers. Life Member of the Directors Board of the World Association of Agricultural Engineers. Currently, she is President of the National Association of Agricultural Engineers and the Committee for the Visibility of Engineering Talent (IIE).
From 2005 to 2012, Vice-rector for Academic Planning at the International University Menéndez Pelayo, responsible for the summer courses in La Magdalena de Santander Investors. In 2006 she was elected Dean of the Official College of Agricultural Engineers of the Center and the Canary Islands (2006-2018), President of the World Association of Agricultural Engineers (2008 – 2016).
Vice President of the World Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Engineers Foundations. Among other positions, she has held: Advisor to the World Bank, President of the Fundación Cibeles for the Coexistence of Agriculture and the Environment, Honorary Member and Counselor of the Pan American Association of Agricultural Engineers representing Spain.
