Francesca Cionco in an Agronomist, second national expert at the European Commission DG AGRI.
She was a member of several working groups of the Italian Ministry of Agriculture for negotiations in Brussels.
She dealt with the “Reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2014-2020”, with the monitoring and revision of the 22 Italian Rural Development Plans 2007-2013.
Currently she works in the working group at the AGRI Secretariat to follow the negotiation on “Reform of the CAP 2021-2027” in the trialogue with the Council and the Commission.
She has followed the issue of the digitization of agriculture and she is responsible for evaluating the agricultural aspect of trade agreements with Mercosur, Vietnam, CETA, Morocco and China (part IG).
She followed the monitoring and fine-tuning of the agri-food aspects of the “Farm to Fork” strategy within the team created by the AGRI Secretariat.
Responsible for the organization and management of the meetings of the interparliamentary commission on “The reform of the CAP” (2019) and “Farm to Fork strategy” (2020).
